New light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations in the UK fell -11.8% YoY in May to 22,796 units, marking the sixth consecutive monthly decline and the weakest May since 2022.

• Large vans (>2.5–3.5T) registrations dropped -14.0% YoY to 14,652 units; medium vans fell -9.2% YoY and small vans -7.8% YoY.
• Pickups declined -12.7% YoY, impacted by April’s tax changes on double-cabs.
• Only 4x4s posted growth, rising +36.9% YoY to 716 units.
• Battery electric vans (BEVs) rose +50.0% YoY but remain at just half of the mandated market share.
