UK light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations declined -2.1% YoY in September 2025 to 47,418 units, the smallest drop of the year but continuing a weak trend amid subdued business confidence.
- Large vans (2.5–3.5T) rose +3.2% YoY to 32,670 units, maintaining dominance at nearly 69% of the market.
- Pickups increased +7.8% YoY to 5,749 units, supported by deliveries of pre-fiscal rule orders ahead of April policy changes.
- Small vans (≤2.0T) edged up +1.9% to 1,202 units, while medium vans (2.0–2.5T) dropped sharply by -25.1% to 7,150 units.
- 4x4 registrations fell -13.4% YoY to 647 units, continuing sectoral weakness.
- Electric van (BEV) registrations surged +41.1% YoY to 4,262 units, reaching a record 8.9% market share, though still below the 16% target for 2025.
- BEV rigids (>3.5–4.25T) dropped -61.7% YoY, but other heavy rigids (>3.5–6.0T) grew +38.8%, keeping total rigids only slightly lower (-1.7%).
- Year-to-date, LCV registrations remain down -9.8%, while BEV volumes are up +55.9%, highlighting structural resilience in the electrification segment despite broad market softness.

- Large van registrations fell -11.5% YoY to 10,398 units, though they still made up 72.4% of the market.
- Medium-sized vans declined -14.0% YoY to 2,383 units, while small vans fell -17.6% YoY to 352 units.
- Pickup registrations plunged -25.8% YoY to 1,040 units, pressured by fiscal changes reclassifying double-cab pickups as cars.
- 4x4 registrations declined -13.9% YoY to 192 units, continuing the broad-based contraction.
- Battery electric vans (BEVs) rose +109.5% YoY to 1,902 units, lifting market share to a record 13.0%; year-to-date BEV share is 9.1%, up from last year but still well below the mandated 16% target for 2025.

- BEV van registrations rose +72.6% YoY in July to 2,442 units, extending a growth streak to eight months; market share remains low at 8.8% YTD vs 16% mandated.
