The US Treasury reports a monthly deficit of $94.6 billion (vs $86.5 billion expected) in January 2026, below the $128.6 billion deficit reported in January 2025.
- Total revenues were up 9.1% YoY to $559.9 billion, outpacing total outlays up 2.0% YoY to $654.6 billion.
- The YTD deficit is $697.0 billion through the first four months of FY26, down -17.0% YoY from the deficit of $839.6 billion in the first four months of FY25.
- Revenue from customs duties was $27.7 billion in January, roughly the same as $27.9 billion in December. So far in FY26, revenue from customs duties is $117.7 billion, on track for about $350 billion in revenue from customs duties for the full fiscal year.

The US Treasury reports a monthly deficit of $144.7 billion (vs $150 billion expected) in December, almost double the $86.7 billion deficit in December 2024.
- Total receipts were up 6.6% YoY to $484.4 billion, while total outlays increased 16.3% YoY to $629.1 billion.
- The YTD deficit is $602.4 billion through the first three months of FY26, down -15.3% YoY from the deficit of $710.6 billion in the first three months of FY25.
- Total customs duties in December were $27.9 billion for a total of $90.0 billion in the first three months of FY26, well above $20.8 billion in the first three months of FY25.

The US Treasury reported a deficit of $173.3 billion (vs $205 billion expected) in November, down -52.8% YoY from the $366.8 billion deficit in November 2024.
- Total receipts were up 11.3% YoY to $336.0 billion, and total outlays were down -23.8% YoY to $509.3 billion.
- The YTD FY26 deficit of $457.6 billion is down -26.7% YoY from $624.2 billion in the same period in FY25.
- Total customs duties were $30.8 billion in November, and on a YTD basis are up 343.4% YoY.

The US Treasury reported a deficit of $284.4 billion in October, 10.4% larger than the deficit of $257.5 billion reported in October 2024.
- Total receipts were up 23.7% YoY to $404.4 billion, but this was offset by a 17.9% YoY rise in total outlays to $688.7 billion.
- Customs duties were up 329.7% YoY to $31.4 billion, but this was more than offset by a 50.4% YoY increase in Department of Health and Human Services outlays.

The US registered a surplus of $198.0 billion in September, much higher than the $80.3 billion surplus reported in September 2024.
- Total receipts were up 3.2% YoY to $543.7 billion, and total outlays saw a large decline of -22.6% YoY to just $345.7 billion.
- The full year FY25 deficit was $1.78 trillion, down -2.3% YoY from the $1.82 trillion deficit reported for FY24.

The US deficit for August was reported at $344.8 billion (vs $310.0 billion expected), down from $380.1 billion in the same month a year ago.
- Total receipts were up 12.3% YoY to $344.3 billion, reflecting stronger tariff revenue, while total outlays were only up 0.4% YoY to $689.1 billion.
- Total customs duties collected were $29.5 billion in August, up from $27.7 billion in July. So far in FY25, total duties collected were up to $165.2 billion, over 136% higher than a year ago.

The US deficit for July was reported at $291.1 billion (vs $215 billion expected), up from $243.7 billion in the same month a year ago.
- Total receipts were up 2.5% YoY to $338.5 billion and were more than offset by a 9.7% YoY increase in total outlays to $629.6 billion.
- Total customs duties collected were $27.7 billion in July, up slightly from $26.6 billion in June. So far in FY25, duties collected is up to $135.7 billion, more than double the $62.7 billion collected in the same period in FY24.

- In June 2025, total receipts were up 12.9% YoY to $526.4 billion, and total outlays were down -7.0% YoY to $499.4 billion.
- The Oct-Jun FY25 deficit is now up to $1.34 trillion, a 5.0% YoY increase over the Oct-Jun FY24 deficit of $1.27 trillion.

The Monthly Treasury Statement reports a deficit of $316.0 billion in May, an improvement from $347.1 billion a year ago and lower than expectations of a deficit of $325.0 billion.
- Total receipts were up 14.7% YoY at $371.2 billion, more than offsetting a rise in total outlays of 2.5% YoY to $687.2 billion.
- So far in FY25, the total deficit is $1,364.7 billion, up 13.5% YoY from $1,202.2 billion in the same period in FY24.

The Monthly Treasury Statement reports a surplus of $258.4 billion in April of FY25, up from a $209.5 billion surplus in April of FY24.
- Total receipts were up a strong 9.5% YoY at $850.2 billion, offsetting a rise in total outlays of 4.4% YoY to $591.8 billion.
- So far in FY25, the total deficit is $1,048.7 billion, almost $200 billion above the deficit in the same period a year ago ($855.2 billion).
- Both off-budget and on-budget outlays are over where they were a year ago, including off-budget outlays of $115.1 billion in April.
