The US Treasury reported a deficit of $284.4 billion in October, 10.4% larger than the deficit of $257.5 billion reported in October 2024.

• Total receipts were up 23.7% YoY to $404.4 billion, but this was offset by a 17.9% YoY rise in total outlays to $688.7 billion.
• Customs duties were up 329.7% YoY to $31.4 billion, but this was more than offset by a 50.4% YoY increase in Department of Health and Human Services outlays.
