The Chicago Fed National Activity Index increased to 0.15 in December from a revised up November value of -0.01 (previous reading of -0.12). Production indicators made the largest contribution at 0.19 (up from 0.03). Employment indicators remained mostly flat at 0.01 (up from 0.00). Sales & orders made a slightly less negative contribution at -0.02 (up from -0.05). Consumption & housing indicators were the only group to get worse at -0.02 (down from -0.01).
