France Consumer Confidence: July 2025

France’s consumer confidence index rose 1 pt to 89 in July 2025 but remains well below its long-term average of 100.

  • Households' expected financial situation improved slightly to -13 (from -14), while views on their current financial situation rose to -23 (from -24).
  • Savings intentions climbed to a record-equaling high of 42, and expected savings capacity rose to 14 (from 12).
  • Major purchases intentions remained weak at -26, while views on future standard of living worsened to -61 (new low since March 2023).
  • Unemployment fears eased for a second month, falling to 54 (from 58).
  • Inflation expectations rose 5 pts to -31, the highest since April 2023, while perceptions of past inflation also ticked up.
