France’s consumer confidence index held steady at 88 in June 2025, unchanged from May and still well below its long-term average of 100.

  • The expected financial situation index was unchanged at -14, while past financial situation improved slightly from -25 to -24.
  • Major purchases intentions remained weak at -27, well below the long-term average.
  • Households’ savings intentions rose 4 pts to 40, and future saving capacity improved 2 pts to 12—both well above historical norms.
  • Future standard of living declined -1 pt to -60, while unemployment fears eased slightly, with the index down -2 pts to 59.
  • Perceived past inflation fell -3 pts to -8; expectations for future inflation were unchanged at -38.
