Euro Area Construction Production: June 2025

Euro area construction production fell -0.8% MoM in June 2025 (EU: -0.5% MoM) after a larger drop in May, but was still up 1.7% YoY (EU: +1.9% YoY).

Building construction declined -1.8% MoM in the euro area and -1.6% MoM in the EU, while civil engineering rose +0.5% MoM in the euro area but fell -0.1% MoM in the EU.

Specialised construction activities slipped -0.2% MoM in the euro area but edged up +0.3% MoM in the EU.

Spain (-5.6% MoM), Hungary (-5.3% MoM), and Slovenia (-3.7% MoM) saw the sharpest monthly declines, while Slovakia (+5.3% MoM), Romania (+4.5% MoM), and Poland (+3.2% MoM) posted gains.

On a YoY basis, euro area building construction rose +3.3%, civil engineering +2.9%, and specialised activities +0.9%.

Spain led YoY growth at +31.4%, followed by Czechia (+14.0%) and Slovakia (+9.8%), while France (-5.1%), Austria (-5.0%), and Germany (-2.5%) recorded notable annual declines.
