EU new car registrations were down -0.2% YoY in March, the smallest decline so far this year. In Q1 2025, registrations were down -1.9% YoY.

• Total registrations across the EU, the EFTA, and the UK were up 2.8% YoY, and in Q1 2025, were down -0.4% YoY.
• March new registrations in the major EU economies: Germany (-3.9% YoY), France (-14.5% YoY), Italy (+6.3% YoY), Spain (+23.4% YoY)
• EV registrations were up 17.1% YoY (Q1 2025: 23.9% YoY) with large increases in hybrid registrations as well. Petrol registrations fell -20.7% YoY (Q1 2025: -20.6% YoY), diesel registrations down -25.5% YoY.
