ACEA New Car Registrations: February 2025
New EU car registrations were down -3.4% YoY in February, down from -2.6% YoY in January.
- The markets with the largest declines were Germany (-6.4% YoY) and Italy (-6.2% YoY).
- Spain was the only major market seeing an increase with registrations up 8.4% YoY in February.
- New BEV car registrations were up 23.7% YoY and up 19.0% YoY for hybrid-electric cars.
- Petrol car registrations were down -22.4% YoY, and diesel registrations were down -28.8% YoY.
- Up until February 2025, battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 15.2% of total EU market share, signifying an increase from the low baseline of 11.5% in the comparable period of January-February 2024.
