Euro area construction production rose 1.7% MoM and 3.0% YoY in April, rebounding from a small monthly decline in March.

• Civil engineering in the euro area fell -0.2% MoM but increased 3.3% YoY.
• Specialised construction activities rose 1.7% MoM and 2.4% YoY.
• Construction of buildings increased 0.9% MoM and 1.7% YoY.
• Among member states, the largest MoM gains were in Hungary (+5.3%), Spain (+4.3%), and Slovenia (+4.0%), while Czechia (-5.0%) posted the steepest decline.
• On a YoY basis, Spain (+14.7%), Bulgaria (+7.0%), and Belgium (+6.6%) led growth; Slovenia (-5.9%) and Poland (-4.3%) saw the largest contractions.
