Australian employment increased 32.2k or 0.2% MoM in March, slightly below the 40k that was projected.

• Full-time employment increased by 15k, and part-time employment increased by 17.2k.
• The unemployment rate increased 0.1 ppts to 4.1% on a 3k increase in the number of unemployed.
• The participation rate improved 0.1 ppts to 66.8%, below expectations of it rising to 67.0%.
• Total hours worked fell -0.3% MoM to 1.97 million. The annual increase of 0.7% YoY is the weakest since August 2024.
