Japanese investors reported net buying of foreign long-term debt totaling ¥3,987.4 billion in the month of April driven by ¥4078.1 billion worth of buying in the first twenty days of the month.

• Total investment in foreign equities during the month was -¥423.7 billion with selling pressure occurring in the latter part of the month.
• Total foreign investment in Japanese equities and Japanese long-term debt was ¥2,488.5 billion and -¥134.5 billion respectively.
• In April, the net portfolio investment activity, total increase in assets minus liabilities, was ¥1,217.0 billion.
