Japanese investors reported net selling of foreign long-term debt totaling ¥1,985.8 billion in the month of April driven by ¥2,700.7 billion worth of selling in the first ten days of the month.

• Total investment in foreign equities during the month was ¥3,271.6 billion with purchasing activity spread relatively evenly over the month.
• Total foreign investment in Japanese equities and Japanese long-term debt was ¥3,675.9 billion and ¥4,537.1 billion respectively.
• In April, the net portfolio investment activity, total increase in assets minus liabilities, was -¥9,554.5 trillion.
