French industrial production increased 0.7% MoM in February but was down -1.0% YoY, beating the consensus estimate of 0.4% MoM.

• Manufacturing production jumped 1.4% MoM but was still down -1.9% YoY.
• Capital goods production increased 2.1% MoM, and intermediate goods production was up 1.6% MoM.
• Transport equipment production jumped 3.2% MoM, still down -5.7% YoY.
• Consumer goods production was also on the incline last month: durables up 1.0% MoM and non-durables up 0.8% MoM.
• Energy production was the only category down, dropping -2.9% MoM.
