Drewry World Container Index: Week of April 17th
The Drewry World Container Index fell -3% WoW last week to $2,192, reversing the increase in the week before.
- All but two routes saw declines with the largest drops in the Shanghai-LA rate (-5% WoW) and the Shanghai-NY rate (-7% WoW) likely a result of the slowing of trade between the US and China.
- Drewry expects rates to continue to decline in the coming week due to reduced capacity and uncertainty stemming from tariffs.
