India Auto Industry Performance: October 2025

India’s auto sector saw strong festive-season momentum in October 2025, with passenger vehicle, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler sales all rising YoY and dispatches reaching record monthly levels, reflecting improved demand alongside the GST rate reduction.

  • Passenger vehicle (PV) sales reached 460,739 units in October, rising +17.2% YoY, marking the segment’s highest-ever dealer dispatches, helped by festive demand and GST cuts.

  • Two-wheeler sales totaled 2,210,727 units, up +2.1% YoY, showing steady but more moderate growth relative to PVs.

  • Three-wheeler sales were 81,288 units, increasing +5.9% YoY, supported by continued strength in urban transport demand.

  • Total industry production across PVs, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and quadricycles reached 2.80 million units, highlighting strong supply-chain throughput despite some logistical constraints noted by SIAM.

  • PV totals exclude BMW, Mercedes, JLR and Volvo Auto, and two-wheeler and three-wheeler data reflect wholesale dispatches to dealers; without Tata Motors, October PV totals would have been 399,605 units, underscoring Tata’s sizable contribution to monthly volumes.
