Euro Area Industrial Production: July 2025

Euro area industrial production rose +0.3% MoM in July 2025 (EU +0.2% MoM) after a decline in June, and increased +1.8% YoY in both regions.

  • In the euro area, MoM output increased for intermediate goods (+0.5%), capital goods (+1.3%), durable goods (+1.1%), and non-durable goods (+1.5%), while energy production fell -2.9%.

  • In the EU, MoM gains were also broad-based, led by non-durable goods (+1.3%) and capital goods (+0.9%), with energy output down -2.1%.

  • The strongest MoM national gains came from Croatia (+2.6%), Hungary (+2.1%), and Slovenia (+2.1%), while Estonia (-5.5%), Malta (-4.7%), and Sweden (-3.9%) posted the sharpest drops.

  • YoY, euro area industrial output rose +2.1% for capital goods and +6.6% for non-durable goods, but fell -0.9% for intermediate goods, -0.5% for energy, and -0.1% for durable goods.

  • In the EU, YoY output was up +2.4% for capital goods and +5.2% for non-durable goods, but down -0.7% for intermediate goods, -0.6% for energy, and -0.3% for durable goods.

  • The largest YoY gains came from Latvia (+9.8%), Ireland (+8.1%), and Sweden (+4.1%), while Bulgaria (-8.3%), Luxembourg (-4.7%), and Slovakia (-4.6%) saw the steepest declines.
