UK Construction Output: June 2025

UK construction output rose +1.2% QoQ in Q2 2025, supported by gains in both new work and repair & maintenance, though new orders weakened sharply.

New work increased +1.1% QoQ, while repair & maintenance grew +1.4%, both contributing to the quarterly rise.

On a monthly basis, output rose +0.3% in June, following -0.5% in May and +0.9% in April, marking a partial rebound.

June’s growth came entirely from repair & maintenance (+1.2%), while new work fell -0.4%.

Within R&M, private housing rose +3.7% and non-housing increased +0.8%, providing the strongest support.

Five of nine sectors expanded in June, led by housing-related repair activity.

Total new orders dropped -8.3% QoQ (£976m), driven by declines in infrastructure and private commercial projects.
