The early January Index of Consumer Sentiment reading was down -1.1% MoM to 73.2. The Current Economic Conditions index grew 3.7% MoM to 77.9, and the Index of Consumer Expectations fell -4.2% to 70.2.

Inflation expectations saw a large increase in January across both durations. 1-year ahead inflation expectations were up 0.5 ppts to 3.3%, and 5-year ahead inflation expectations were up 0.3 ppts to 3.3%.
