Industrial production increased 0.3% MoM in December, in line with expectations, with shipments up 0.5% MoM. On an annual basis, production was down -1.1% YoY, and shipments were down -2.4% YoY. Production machinery and electronic parts & devices contributed to rise that was offset by weakness in motor vehicles and chemical production. The survey forecasts January growth at 1.0% MoM and February growth at 1.2% MoM.
