Italy International Trade: May 2025
Italy’s exports fell -2.3% MoM and imports dropped -4.1% MoM in May 2025, with both sides of trade also lower YoY: exports down -1.9% and imports down -1.7%.
- The trade surplus was €6.16 billion in May, up from a surplus of €2.48 billion in April.
- Non-EU exports declined -3.1% MoM and -4.6% YoY, while EU exports slipped -1.7% MoM but rose +0.7% YoY.
- Non-EU imports fell -7.5% MoM and -3.4% YoY; EU imports were down -1.3% MoM and -0.4% YoY.
- Import prices declined -1.4% MoM and -3.0% YoY, with steeper drops from non-eurozone countries (-2.3% MoM, -3.7% YoY).
- Over the latest three-month period, import prices fell -1.7% from the previous quarter.
