German real retail sales dropped -1.6% MoM, much worse than the 0.2% MoM increase that was expected, but were still up 1.8% YoY (vs 2.5% YoY expected).

• Food sales dropped -1.7% MoM and -0.4% YoY, and non food sales were down -0.7% MoM but up 3.4% YoY. Overall, a weak holiday result for Germany.
• For the full year 2024, real sales were up 0.9% and nominal sales were up 2.3%.
