The euro area job vacancy rate was unchanged from the previous quarter at 2.5% in Q4 2024, sitting just above the pre-pandemic rate of 2.3%.

• Vacancy rates were 2.2% in both industry and construction, and 2.7% in services.
• The services sector continues to see high vacancy rates. Admin & support services has the highest vacancy rate of all industries at 4.1% following by information & communications at 3.2%.
• The manufacturing and mining & quarrying vacancy rates are among the lowest at 1.8% and 1.3% respectively.
• Over the course of 2024, the vacancy rate fell -0.4 ppts with most of that decline coming in Q2 2024.
