Drewry World Container Index: Week of January 30th
The Drewry WCI composite index decreased -2% WoW to $3,364, down -68% below the previous pandemic peak of $10,377 in September 2021, but was 137% higher than the average $1,420 in 2019 (pre-pandemic).
Container rates from China continued their decline last week. The Shanghai-Rotterdam route rates fell -5% WoW, and the Shanghai-Genoa route rates fell -4% WoW. The Shanghai-New York and Shanghai-Los Angeles rates both fell -1% WoW.
