Restaurant operators reported a net increase in same-store sales in June, with results similar to April and May. 

Fifty-one percent of restaurant operators said their same-store sales rose between June 2025 and June 2026, according to the National Restaurant Association’s monthly tracking survey. That followed readings of 48% in April and 50% in May. 

Thirty-one percent of restaurant operators said their sales declined in June.

While still dampened overall, restaurant operators reported a modest improvement in customer traffic in June. 

Thirty-five percent of operators said their customer traffic rose between June 2025 and June 2026, up from 29% in May. Forty-three percent of operators reported lower traffic in June, down from 45% in May. 

Despite the improvement, June represented the 16th time in the last 17 months that operators reported a net decline in customer traffic.
