US consumer credit increased $13.1 billion in September 2025, or at an annualized rate of 3.1%, above expectations of an increase of $10 billion.
- Revolving credit increased at a SAAR of 1.5%, bouncing from a weak -5.6% pace in August.
- Nonrevolving credit increased at a SAAR of 3.7%, above the overall growth rate of 2.9% in Q3.
- Total outstanding consumer credit increased to $5.08 trillion with revolving credit balances up to $1.31 trillion and nonrevolving credit balances up to $3.77 trillion.
