UK heavy goods vehicle registrations fell -11.2% YoY in Q2 2025 to 10,185 units, reflecting a normalisation in fleet renewal amid a softer economic backdrop.
- Tractor unit demand declined -8.1% YoY but still represented 42.2% of total registrations.
- Box van registrations dropped -33.1% YoY, while tippers and curtain-siders fell -19.6% and -24.2%, respectively.
- Refuse collection vehicles bucked the trend, rising +11.4% YoY, making them the only segment to register growth.
- Zero-emission HGV registrations increased +32.3% YoY in Q2, with total H1 registrations up 59.1% YoY (183 units; 0.9% market share), but rollout still limited by high upfront costs and grid connection delays.
