    • Total net TIC flows (long-term + short-term securities + banking flows) were +$44.9B in December, composed of +$32.7B in net private inflows and +$12.2B in net official inflows.
    • Foreign residents' net purchases of long-term U.S. securities were +$62.9B, with private investors at +$55.7B and official institutions at +$7.2B.
    • U.S. residents' net purchases of long-term foreign securities were +$34.9B.
    • After adjustments, overall net foreign purchases of long-term securities were +$28.0B.
    • Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury bills rose +$9.7B, and foreign holdings of all dollar-denominated short-term U.S. securities and custody liabilities increased +$12.1B.
    • Banks' own net dollar-denominated liabilities to foreign residents increased +$4.8B.
