Total tourist expenditure in Spain was up 7.6% YoY in February, down from 8.9% YoY in January.
- The average daily expenditure per tourist was up 5.5% YoY led by UK tourist daily expenditure growth of 11.3% YoY.
- Spending on activities increased 6.0% YoY, and spending on accommodation increased 5.8% YoY.
- Total spending on leisure trips was up 10.5% YoY while total spending on business trips fell -16.4% YoY.

Tourist activity was still strong in Spain to start the new year after fading a bit in December.
- Total tourist expenditure increased 8.9% YoY in January, up from 7.0% YoY in December but below the 25.5% YoY surge a year ago.
- Total spending on accommodation (+10.0% YoY) and activities (+10.3% YoY) are still the categories seeing the strongest growth.
- Average daily spending per person is up 4.3% YoY with leisure tourist spending up 4.5% YoY and business travelers spending up 12.3% YoY.

The total expenditure of tourists was up 16.0% YoY in November with the average daily spending up 2.4% YoY to €178.
- Spending on accommodation is up 14.6% YoY, and spending on activities is up 12.1% YoY.
- When looking at reason for travel, leisure travel spending was up 17.9% YoY while business travel spending was down -8.2% YoY.
