France’s industrial production fell -1.1% MoM (vs -1.8% MoM expected) in July 2025 (after +3.7% in June), with manufacturing output down -1.7% MoM but still +1.3% YoY, reflecting a sharp pullback in transport equipment after June’s surge.

Transport equipment output slumped -10.7% MoM after +16.3% in June, mainly due to aerospace construction; YoY growth remained strong at +10.5%.

Machinery and equipment goods declined -2.2% MoM (vs +3.9% in June) but were up +0.6% YoY.

Food products and beverages dropped -1.3% MoM, extending their YoY decline to -1.7%.

Other manufacturing industries (chemicals, metals, pharmaceuticals, etc.) rose +1.0% MoM, leaving output nearly flat YoY at +0.1%.

Coke and refined petroleum products increased +2.5% MoM but were down -3.3% YoY.

Mining, energy, and water supply rose +1.6% MoM but were -1.4% YoY.

Construction output rebounded +0.6% MoM after -0.2% in June, though activity was still -3.6% lower YoY.
