France’s household goods consumption rose +0.6% MoM in June 2025 (vs +0.1% in May, revised down), driven by a sharp rebound in energy and durable goods, while food spending continued to contract.
- Energy consumption jumped +3.5% MoM (after +2.1%), led by a +3.7% rebound in petroleum products.
- Durable goods rose +1.1% MoM (after -0.8%), with transport equipment up +3.0% and household durables slightly higher (+0.1%).
- Food consumption fell -0.9% MoM (after -0.3%), dragged by declines in agri-food products and tobacco.
- Other engineered goods slipped -0.2% MoM, while textile/clothing edged up +0.1%.
- QoQ, total household goods consumption increased +0.1%, recovering slightly from -0.6% in Q1.
