French business births rose +3.3% MoM in June 2025, accelerating from +0.8% in May, with gains across all business types.
- Micro-entrepreneur registrations jumped +4.1% MoM, company creations rebounded +1.8%, and traditional sole proprietorships rose +1.6%.
- Births surged in construction (+14.1% MoM) and industry (+13.1%), while real estate (-4.9%) and trade (-1.7%) declined.
- Business births over the past three months rose +2.6% YoY, driven by companies (+6.0%) and micro-entrepreneurs (+2.6%); sole proprietorships fell -6.2%.
- Specialized distance selling added +2,800 births YoY; construction births were down -1,300 over the same period.
- Over the past twelve months, total business births were nearly flat (+0.2% YoY), with companies up +2.9%, micro-entrepreneurs up +1.3%, and sole proprietorships down -12.8%.

French business births rose +0.5% MoM in May 2025, slowing from +4.0% MoM in April, with conventional business creation up +1.1% and micro-entrepreneur registrations flat at +0.1%.
- Over the past twelve months, business births rose +0.5% YoY, driven by companies (+3.4%) and micro-entrepreneurs (+1.6%), while conventional sole proprietorships fell -13.2%.
- Trade sector births rose +4.9% MoM, while transportation and construction saw sharp declines of -5.6% and -4.3% respectively.
- Over the March–May period, transportation and storage led YoY gains with +3,900 additional births (+19.3%), offset partly by construction (-2,500).
- Business births in education, health, and social work rose +3.1% MoM, and household services rebounded +1.9% MoM after a slight decline in April.

The total number of French business births rebounded strongly in April 2025 (+4.6% after -1.7% in March), reaching its highest level since May 2024.
- Registrations of individual businesses under the micro-entrepreneur status increased by +4.9% MoM after a -1.3% MoM decline in March.
- Creations of conventional sole proprietorships and companies increased +4.0% MoM, reversing a -2.4% MoM decline in March.
- Business births rebounded very strongly in the transportation and storage sector (+20.5% MoM) after a -10.7% MoM decline, while declining in household services (-1.5% MoM).
- Over the past twelve months (May 2024 to April 2025), the total number of businesses created rose by 1.4% YoY compared to the previous year (May 2023 to April 2024).

Total French business starts fell again in March, down -2.3% MoM, the fourth straight monthly decline.
- Conventional business starts fell -2.5% MoM, and self-employed businesses starts fell -0.6% MoM.
- Over the last three months, starts are down -2.9%, but total starts over the last year were up 1.7%.
- Business starts in the transportation & storage sector (-8.9% MoM) and the industrial sector (-12.1% MoM) both saw sharp declines, possibly in a snap reaction to the potential adverse effects of US tariffs.
