Euro area retail trade volume rose +0.3% MoM in June 2025, rebounding from a -0.3% MoM decline in May. On a YoY basis, trade volume was up +3.1%, the strongest annual gain since January.
- Non-food product sales rose +0.6% MoM and +4.3% YoY, while automotive fuel increased +0.4% MoM and +4.0% YoY.
- Food, drinks, and tobacco sales increased +0.2% MoM and +1.7% YoY in the euro area.
- Croatia (+3.6% MoM), Sweden (+2.6%), and Malta (+2.2%) posted the strongest monthly gains.
- France (-0.9% MoM), Poland and Slovenia (both -0.8%) saw the steepest declines.
- On a YoY basis, Cyprus (+8.7%), Croatia (+7.4%), and Malta/Portugal (+6.9%) led gains, while Finland (-1.1%) and Slovakia (-0.4%) declined.
