Euro area construction output rose +0.5% MoM in July 2025 (EU: +0.6% MoM) after falling in June, and was up +3.2% YoY (EU: +3.6% YoY), reflecting broad annual strength across sectors.

In the euro area, building construction fell -1.4% MoM, while civil engineering rose +0.5% MoM and specialised construction activities gained +1.2% MoM.

Romania (+20.1% MoM), Slovenia (+9.9% MoM), and Belgium (+2.2% MoM) posted the strongest monthly growth, while Spain (-4.5% MoM), Sweden (-4.0% MoM), and Portugal (-1.5% MoM) saw notable declines.

On a YoY basis, euro area building construction rose +3.3%, civil engineering +3.4%, and specialised activities +2.8%.

In the EU, annual growth was broad-based, with building construction up +3.6%, civil engineering +2.9%, and specialised activities +2.7%.

Romania (+41.1% YoY), Spain (+22.8% YoY), and Slovenia (+21.4% YoY) led annual growth, while Sweden (-4.5% YoY), Austria (-2.7% YoY), France (-1.7% YoY), and Germany (-1.2% YoY) recorded declines.
